Patiently Wait On The Lord
JAMES 5:8
“You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Written to suffering and oppressed believers, this verse commands Christians to maintain steadfast endurance through hard times by anchoring their inner resolve in the absolute certainty of Jesus Christ’s return.
This is not a passive or lazy waiting. Building on the previous verse's example of a farmer waiting for a crop, it means choosing to stay steady and faithful under pressure.
To "establish" or "strengthen" means to make firm, set securely, and prevent from wavering. Believers are told to anchor their inner self in God’s truth rather than letting fear or doubt take over.
Christ's return is the ultimate guarantee of justice, relief, and reward. Knowing he is coming keeps believers hopeful and active in their faith instead of giving up or seeking revenge.
God uses troubles to build our patience and endurance until we become perfect and complete and needing nothing (JAMES 1:2-4).
Impatience brings stress, anxiety, and frustration, and does nothing to resolve any situation at all.
The truth is, we believes can do nothing good in our own strength, but in our weakness, God is strong-His grace is enough (2 CORINTHIANS 12:9) when our dependence is in Him alone.
“He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:29-31 NKJV
