One Must Be Empty Before He Can Be Filled

Being "poor in spirit" involves several key principles. It is the opposite of spiritual pride.
It means recognizing that you do not have the righteousness, power, or good deeds to earn your way into heaven.
It is impossible to see the Kingdom of God in one’s own power, abilities, or righteousness, because all have sinned and justified our own death. Being poor in spirit is one’s acceptance that we humans can do nothing good in our own strength, but by faith alone, can do all things through Christ who is our strength (PHILIPPIANS 4:13). It is recognising that God's plan is not my plan B.
It reflects a state of realizing you are utterly dependent on God's grace for salvation and trusting Him with every part of our life.
Jesus promises that those who recognize their need for Him are the ones who receive His kingdom, meaning they experience eternal life and a relationship with God.
Ultimately, one must understand his or her own spiritual emptiness before you can accept God's offer of salvation and all that comes with it.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
