Don't Be Selfih And Don't Try To Impress Others. Be Humble And Value Others More Than Yourselves
Jesus Way Is Selfless
PHILIPPIANS 2:3
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Here, the Apostle Paul instructs believers to abandon self-centered motives and instead adopt a humble, others-focused mindset.
Seeking personal advancement, status, or victory (selfish ambitions/ rivalry) at the expense of others, or working out of a competitive need to come out on top is not acceptable in Gods kingdom. Nor is it acceptable to seek empty praise, public applause, or to feed one’s own fragile ego and self-image.
Acting to win empty praise, public applause, or to feed a fragile ego and self-image is man’s nature, but not Jesus’ way. We are all individual parts of one body in Christ, called to do our part, rather than self, our service must edify the whole body for the glory of God (Ephesians 4:11-16).
Having a realistic, modest view of oneself, which is true humility, is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.
To value others above yourself is treating other people's needs, well-being, and dignity as more significant than your own immediate desires.
That is not to say that you are to value yourself less than others, but rather to prioritise others needs when necessary, before your own.
Having said that, we believers are called to help the needy, not subsidise the greedy.
Biblical humility does not deny your value as a person made in God's image; rather, it frees you from the exhausting obsession with self-promotion.
It does not mean pretending someone else is literally more talented or skilled than you at every single task; instead, it is a posture of the heart that gives them priority, respect, and care.
Paul wrote this to the church in Philippi to heal internal divisions and rivalries. He explains that true unity cannot exist through mere outward agreement; it requires a shared, humble disposition (verses 1-2).
He points immediately to Jesus as the ultimate example. Though Jesus possessed divine nature and equality with God, He emptied Himself, took the form of a servant, and humbled Himself to die on a cross for others.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
