I And My Father Are One

JOHN 10:28-30
“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.”
”‭‭John‬ ‭10:28-30‬ ‭NKJV‬

Just as a shepherd protects his sheep, Jesus protects His people from eternal harm.
We believers can expect to suffer on earth, Satan will do anything he can to stop us spreading the Good News and doing God’s work.
He hates us with avengance and will attack us in any way he can; financially, through our health, in our relationships, workplace, and by bringing all kinds of troubles and tribulations.
His purpose is to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (JOHN 10:10), and he’s good at it.
But Jesus suffered for His people to give them the opportunity of life, and that they might have it abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
By His death Jesus bridged the gap that sin placed between man and God.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Furthermore, Jesus said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:19-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
There are many reasons to be afraid here on earth because this is the devil's domain (1 PETER 5:8).
But if you choose to follow Jesus, you have authority over the devil and his demons and whatever else happens, God will give you everlasting safety.
Verse 30 is one of the shortest verses, yet it is the most clearest statement of Jesus divinity that He ever made.
Jesus and His Father have different roles, but they are one in essence and in nature; they are one, for their is but one true God.
Thus, Jesus is not just a good teacher or prophet, He is God in human form (PHILIPPIANS 2:6).
His claim to be God was unmistakable. The religious leaders wanted to kill him because they said that anyone claiming to be God is committing blasphemy and should die.
Nothing could persuade them that Jesus' claim was true. And just as the scriptures say, Jesus Christ our Saviour died on a cross to make us right with God (2 CORINTHIANS 5:21).
Therefore, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭16:13-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brothers and sisters in Christ, however tough life gets in these last days, stand strong on Jesus very own words; “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.””
‭‭John‬ ‭10:27-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
