Don't Be Deceived By Man's Doctrines

HEBREWS 13:7-9
“Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.
”‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:7-9‬ ‭NKJV‬

Although many of our human church leaders have much to offer, we must remain fixed on Christ; He is our ultimate leader, teacher, and example to follow.
Unlike human leaders, Christ never makes mistakes nor does He change; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
It is very important to be sure that what you are being taught in church or on YouTube or through any other source is correct, and that the example of the church leadership is the example of Christ.
It is quite difficult to discern between the true Word of God and man’s man made doctrines.
We can look at the fruits these leaders display (GALATIANS 5:22-23), but even Spirit filled believers make mistakes.
John tells us, rather than testing the doctrine, test the spirits behind them; the source of the word being brought.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
We gain knowledge through study, but true understanding comes only by God. It is He alone who removes the veil.
“But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
In this ever changing world, Christ does not change; and it’s encouraging to know that we can trust our unchanging God in every aspect of life, from our wealth, our health, to every provision, through all our troubles, our relationships, our children, and careers, and all things.
Nothing is either to big, or powerful, or indeed too small for our God, and we are safe in His Mighty hands.
“Strange doctrines” implies doctrines foreign to the gospel message; sacrificial feast, various laws determining what is clean and unclean.
Teachings that of the Old Testament ceremonial laws and rituals, such as not eating certain foods that was important back then for wellbeing. But these foods and rules are no help for conquering evil human thoughts and desires (COLOSSIANS 2:23).
These laws could have an influence on conduct, but have no effect in changing the heart.
Real lasting change only comes when the Holy Spirit who lives in us. He transforms us from the inside by the renewing of our minds (ROMAN 12:2; EPHESIANS 4:23-24).
My brethren, if you want to get off that roundabout of the same old troubles and despair, you must change something in your life, and it can only come by following the leading of the Holy Spirit living in you (see GALATIANS 5: 16:26).
It requires you to cooperate with God; presenting your body a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God, which is the least you can do, not being conformed to this world, but rather being transformed by the renewing of the mind.
It is then that you shall be transformed by the renewing of the mind and you shall come to understand what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (ROMANS 12:1-2).
It is a process and as Paul put it in Philippians 1:6: “I am certain that God who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
My beloved, if you are to walk in the Spirit, first you must receive Him.
“Peter said, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Having received the Holy Spirit, before real change comes, one must be set free.
Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.””
‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Freedom comes from knowing the truth, Jesus Christ. Man’s doctrines won’t set you free.
But the truth will set you free, not free to continue in sin. But free from bondage and to serve God.
Deliverance is key to a changed life; that is to free oneself of every demonic hold the devil has over one’s life.
The devil and his fallen army gain access into our lives through sin, even the sin of our ancestors.
Their desire is to make your body their home and once in, they will not let go without a fight.
From within they manipulate one’s thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, and bring all kinds of health issues, both physical and mental, such as cancers, heart disease, epilepsy, anxiety/ depression, suicidal thoughts, anger rage, addictions, and such as these.
But James told us, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, these demons are subject to us Spirit filled believers in Jesus name (LUKE 10:17).
But “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Jesus covered it all, by the spilling of His blood every single aspect of life is healed in Jesus name, and as a disciple of the living God, you too must pass on the truth to others and the future generations.
Not by works of man, or good behaviour, nor by power or by might, but by the Spirit of our living God.
Having received this awesome gift of life, it is time to share this Good News with all with ears to listen.
Jesus said, “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, share the treasure you found; God shall provide all the needs of your ministry and be with you all the way.
Jesus went on to say, “Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. “Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. And when you go into a household, greet it. If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
