”Isaiah 1:17 NKJV

Here, Isaiah commands believers to actively pursue social righteousness: "Learn to do right; seek justice; he tells us to take up the cause of the fatherless and plead the case of the widow." It teaches that true faith requires both turning away from evil and actively protecting the most vulnerable.
The phrase "learn to do right" highlights that living righteously takes intentional effort, practice, and a continuous desire to align one’s actions with God's standards, plans and purposes for your life.
God calls His people to step in and stop the mistreatment of the powerless by the powerful, rather than turning a blind eye to systemic injustice.
Widows and orphans represent those who had no social or economic power in the ancient world. Defending their cause is the ultimate measure of a just and loving community.
The overarching context of Isaiah 1 is God rebuking His people because they were going through the motions of religious worship while ignoring injustice in their society.
The verse serves as a reminder that proper worship and love for God must be coupled with tangible love and advocacy for neighbours.
Isaiah gives us the basics of living right with God, but sadly many walk with one foot Gods kingdom and the other in the world.
There's a simple choice, that is to walk obediently in the Spirit and serve God, or to live to satisfy one's own lust. You cannot have both, the two do not mix. “For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.”
Galatians 5:17 NKJV
Jesus said, ““No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Matthew 6:24 NKJV
We believers can’t have both ways. Jesus sees your every thought, the very works of your heart.
He went on to say ““I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ””
Revelation 3:15-22 NKJV
My beloved, You can either live for Christ or for the world (devil), but you can't have both.
Jesus died for you, surely it is time to live for Him.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen
