He Took The Humble Position Of A Slave And Was Born As A Human Being
Every Knee Should Bow
PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus Christ was more than humble; although He was God, He gave up His devine privileges as something to cling to while on this earth in order to obey God and serve people.
His ultimate goal was to save His people from the consequences of sin.
Like Christ, we should have a servants attitude; serving out of love for God and others, but not out of guilt or fear or selfish ambition.
You can choose your attitude-you can approach life expecting to be served, or you can look for opportunities to serve others.
The Incarnation was the act of the pre-existent Son of God voluntarily assuming a human body and nature, without ceasing to be God.
He became a human being. But He did not give up his deity to become human, but set aside His right to His glory and power, in submission to the will of the Father.
Jesus limited His own knowledge and power, and was subject to place, time and other human limitations, and was totally dependent on God the Father.
Just as He calls us believers to live by faith , He Himself lived by faith alone.
That is the example of perfection that we believers must follow.
What made His humanity different and unique was His freedom from sin.
In His full humanity, Jesus showed us everything about God's character that can be conveyed in human terms.
People often excuse selfishness, pride or evil by claiming their rights, "I can spend all this money on myself-I worked for it," or, "I can have this abortion, I have a right to control my own body."
“This is my body and I can choose my own sexuality”
Really! Didn’t God create you with purpose? Not your own selfish desires, but His perfect plan of life.
The truth is my beloved, we are all sinners and have no rights.
But we believers should have a different attitude, one that enables us to lay aside what we assume as our own rights in order to serve God and others.
Following Christ, is living as He lived.
We should develop His attitude of humility as we serve, even though we are not likely to get recognition for our efforts.
Death on a cross was the form of capital punishment that Romans used for notorious criminals; it was extremely painful and humiliating.
Prisoners were nailed to a cross and left to die; death often came several days after by suffocation when the weight of the weakened body made breathing more and more difficult.
Jesus died this painful, humiliating death on a cross as one who was cursed (GALATIANS 3:13), to pay the debt of the world, and He never sinned.
How amazing it is that the perfect man, our Almighty God in human form should die this most shameful, humiliating death, so that we would not have to face eternal punishment.
But however, “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:1-5 NKJV
Jesus is the ultimate Judge and knows that every single one of us is guilty and deserves the death sentence.
But He, out of love for His people came into the world as a human being and took our place on a cross. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.””
John 3:16-21 NKJV
At the Last Judgment, even those who are condemned will recognise Jesus authority and right to rule.
People can choose to commit their lives to Jesus as Lord or not, but the day is fast approaching when all will acknowledge Jesus as Lord of Lords and King of kings when He returns (1 TIMOTHY 6:25; REVELATION 17:14), “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:10-11 NKJV
Are you really ready for Jesus Christ return?
So many talk the talk, but do not walk the walk.
They have one foot in God’s Kingdom and one in the world. Jesus said, ““No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Matthew 6:24 NKJV
Therefore, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.””
II Corinthians 6:14-18 NKJV
My brethren, be ready-don’t miss the boat as did those in the days of Noah. Jesus return is imminent!
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
