Who Is Wise And Understanding Among You? Let Them Show It By Their Good Life, By Deeds Done In Humility That Comes From Wisdom
Wisdom Without Humility Is Fake
JAMES 3:13
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.”

Here, James teaches that true wisdom is proven by action and humility rather than mere words. The verse states, “Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom." It shifts the focus of being "wise" from what a person knows to how a person lives.
The key concepts in the verse are “wise and understanding”, which refers to someone who not only knows God's truth but practically grasps how to live it out day by day.
Real wisdom is visible, it shows up as an outer lifestyle of honourable choices and helpful actions toward others.
True spiritual wisdom is paired with gentleness and humility, not pride, loud boasting, or aggressive self-promotion.
Earlier in James, he stresses that faith without works is dead. Here, he mirrors that idea by showing that wisdom without a humble lifestyle is fake.
Right after this verse (James 3:14–16), James warns against bitter jealousy and selfish ambition, calling that kind of attitude earthly and unspiritual.
The verse sets up the definition of godly wisdom found later in James 3:17, which is pure, peace-loving, gentle, and full of mercy.
My beloved, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
