John 6:35 is one of the most famous declarations by Jesus in the Gospel of John.
This is the first of seven famous "I Am" declarations, echoing God's self-revelation to Moses as "I AM", establishing Jesus's divine identity and authority.
Just as physical bread is essential for daily human survival and physical strength, Jesus declares that He is the essential, soul-sustaining nourishment for human life and spiritual growth.
Right before this verse, Jesus had miraculously fed the 5,000 using only five barley loaves and two small fish.. The crowd followed Him across the Sea of Galilee hoping for another free meal. Jesus uses the moment to shift their focus from perishable physical food to eternal spiritual life.
The Words "hunger and thirst" represent the deep, underlying human search for meaning, purpose, peace, forgiveness, and a relationship with God. Jesus promises that coming to Him permanently satisfies this spiritual void.
To "come" to Jesus means recognizing your spiritual need and actively turning toward Him in surrender and trusting Him every aspect of life.
To "believe" is more than just knowing about Jesus historically; it means knowing Him personally and relying on Him, accepting His sacrifice, and resting your hope for salvation on Him rather than your own good works.
That level of trust can only come through relationship with Christ, established through quality time with Him in private.
Make time for Jesus, for He is your living hope, your today, tomorrow, and eternal future.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
