This Only I Seek, That I May Dwell In The House Of The Lord All The Days Of My Life, To Gaze on The Beauty Of The Lord & To Seek Him In His Temple

PSALM 27:1-6

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:1-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fear affects us all at one time or another; it is one of the most powerful of the devil’s weapons.

He is using it today in an attempt to bring our lives to a halt, to destroy the world’s financial systems, businesses, jobs, stability, and to manipulate our governments, and the people of today.

He is trying to use it to stop the assembly of God’s people for prayer and worship, but assembly must continue regardless (see HEBREWS 10:25).

The devil is doing everything he can to fulfil his purposes to still, and to kill, and to destroy, but Jesus came that we shall have life, and that we may have it more abundantly (JOHN 10:10).

My brethren, the devil knows his time is fast running out, and he is doing everything he can to claim as many people as his own  before Jesus Christ returns (see REVELATION 13:14-18).

But God is working non stop; pouring out on His people; “‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy. I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭17‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fear, like hot is the opposite of cold, is the opposite of faith, I tell you the truth, Jesus said Himself, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you (MATHEW 17:20).

“By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭4‬-‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is by faith my beloved that the mountains in your life can be removed and cast into the sea and nothing shall be impossible for you (MARK 11:23).

Good works are good, but they cannot save you, for without faith it is impossible to please God.

Yet, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My beloved, nothing good and lasting comes from the flesh, but good works and fruits are achieved by the leading of the Holy Spirit in you (GALATIANS 5:16-26), for “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I encourage you, the Lord is for you, as He was for David, and in times of trouble He shall hide you in His pavilion, in the secret place of His tabernacle.

The world is getting darker, but the light of Christ shines through the darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it (JOHN 1:5).

The devil is on the attack and the battles are intensifying; but Paul told us, “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬-‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Be prepared for the coming battles by being right with God who gave us a breast plate of righteousness to face and confront our enemies.

He did not give us a back plate, and therefore, when fear causes us to run from our battles, those fiery arrows will stab us in the back.

Therefore my brethren, pray in the Spirit keeping your focus upon Jesus Christ, and you like Peter, you shall walk above every storm, knowing that Jesus is there at arms length to lead you to safety and calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-33).

My brethren, whatever situation you may be facing, however impossible it may seem, God already has it covered, all you need do is believe.

Does that mean it shall pan out exactly how you hope? No, of course not, but Christ sees the whole picture not part, and will take you to the eternal victory, for “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Like David, make the desire of your heart to live in God’s presence every day of your life and you shall be lifted up above all your enemies. Your impossible situations will no longer be impossible, for everything is possible with God (LUKE 18:27; MATHEW 19:26).

Surely my beloved, our Almighty God deserves all our praise and all the glory.

I tell again, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My beloved, make this wonderful psalm (27) of David your exuberant declaration of faith.

And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me. Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen
