And This Is The Testimony: God Has Given Us Eternal Life And This Life Is In His Son

Healing Is In His Name

1 JOHN 5:1-13
“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son. He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
”‭‭I John‬ ‭5:1-13‬ ‭NKJV‬

When we become Spirit filled believers, we are reunited into God's family with other believers, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and are called to love and except them whoever they are.
Jesus never promised that obeying Him would be easy. But effort, cooperation and self-discipline to serve Christ is no burden to those who love Him, for we have the Holy Spirit to help and lead us in righteousness and overcome the temptations of the world (JOHN 14:15-18).
The truth is, when the load becomes heavy, we can trust God to take the load and help us bear it. (see MATHEW 11:28-30).
Many believe that Jesus was "the Christ" only between His baptism and his death, that He was not God until He was baptized; at which time "the Christ" then descended upon Him and then later left Him before His death on the cross. But if Jesus died only as a man, He could not have taken upon Himself the sins of the world, and Christianity would be an empty religion.
The Gospel twice records God's clear declaration that Jesus is and always was His Son at Jesus baptism (MATHEW 3:16-17) and at His transfiguration. (MATHEW 17:5)
Only an act of God could take away the punishment we deserve for our sins.
We know that Jesus is God and always was God from the beginning, “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
As Paul tells us, “Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Whoever believes in God's Son has eternal life. He is all you need.
Eternal life begins the moment one believes and applies the blood of Jesus to their life by their confession of faith.
John says we can know we have salvation because our certainty is based on God's promise that He has given us eternal life through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son.
But He who doesn’t believe has made himself a liar because he doesn’t believe the testimony of God.
Whilst we must cooperate with God, through repentance and baptism, salvation is not based on feelings, emotions, or wealth, works, ability, or status. You can know you have eternal life simply because you believe God's truth, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
He who believes has overcome the world and the things of this world cannot overtake him.
The devil is very quick to bring temptations with whispers of sexual immorality, inappropriate ways to make money, or to gain position, power, and fill us with selfish ambitions.
He brings fear and torment with his deceptions.
He has many evil schemes that are designed to make you fall. But the truth is, He who believes already has the victory over all the things of this world through Christ, including all sin, sickness , addictions, mental health issues, poverty and lack of, for every curse can be broken by the spilled blood of Jesus Christ.
But “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Not only do we have healing available to us believers in every aspect of our lives, we have God given authority over all demonic powers, unclean spirits and demons to cast them out (LUKE 10:17).
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Submit to God: Repent of the sin that let him in.
Rebuke the devil: Call the demons out by name and command them to leave in Jesus name, and they shall flee from you.
They come out through tears, vomit, and sometimes with screaming.
But like squatters, they will not leave whilst they have legal right to remain.
It was sin that let them, including the sin of our ancestors, hence many are afflicted with generational curses from birth.
Involving in the sinful things of this world brings you in line with the devil and gives him legal rights to enter. But repentance gives us authority to evict them and break every curse.
But “”When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭43‬-‭45‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
One must stand upon his repentance by turning from the sin that let them in and walk in their freedom.
If you believe on your freedom in Christ and walk in that truth, you are no longer a slave to those sins through Christ.
Its not always easy and you shall be tested.
But your not alone, Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The Spirit will guide you in all truth (JOHN 16:13), and a battle will start from within, for God doesn’t take away free will and our flesh will try to hold on to its dominion to have its way.
We have a choice to walk in the Spirit, or in the flesh which craves the things of the world and isn’t happy to let go of them.
I ask, who is in control, you or your flesh?
You are spirit, created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), in deed He knew you before you was in your mother’s womb (JEREMIAH 1:5).
Therefore make your spirit king over your soul, which is your mind, will and emotions, who must become servant of the spirit.
The flesh is nothing more than a vehicle to operate from in this physical world, therefore a slave to the spirit, who is subject to the King of kings, the Holy Spirit within.
For you are made up as thee parts-spirit, soul, and body, and together they make a human being (1 THESSALONIANS 5:23).
When saved we believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit; “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ NKJV
He is there to help you walk in the freedom Christ purchased for you, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬
As we walk in obedience to the Spirit, He manifests through our flesh to do good works in the Spirit and out of the belly flows living waters (JOHN 7:38 KJV).
If one slips back into sin, the holy Spirit retreats from the flesh and remains quiet within one’s spirit, quietly bringing conviction to repentance.
It feels like God has left us alone in the wilderness until repentance is restored.
My beloved, “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬
The truth is, whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be delivered (JOEL 2:32).
That is He who came into the world, not by passion nor lust, but by water and blood-Jesus Christ.
All glory to God forever and ever. Amen
