This verse is an instruction for Christians to live out their new identity in Christ by intentionally adopting virtues like compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. It reminds believers to treat others with the same grace they have received from a loving, accepting God.
The verse can be broken down into two distinct parts, your identity and your daily clothing.
Paul anchors his instructions in three specific descriptors of a believer's standing with God.
You are selected (chosen) by God, not because of your own merit, but by His grace.
You are set apart for holiness and a special, sacred purpose, and you are deeply and dearly cherished by God.

Building on this secure foundation, Paul uses the metaphor of getting dressed to describe how Christians should act. Just as you put on clothes each morning, you must intentionally "put on" these five specific virtues.
Compassion which is a deep heartfelt sympathy and care for the struggles of others.
Kindness which is active goodness and practical love shown to those around you, and humility-putting the needs and concerns of others on par with, or ahead of your own.
Gentleness (or Meekness) is power and strength kept under control, reacting with a calm, uplifting spirit rather than harshness.
Patience (or Longsuffering) is the ability to endure annoying situations, difficult people, or hardships without losing your temper or falling into offence.
In the broader context of the passage, Paul goes on to connect this "wardrobe" to forgiveness. The very next verses (3:13-14) instructs believers to bear with one another’s faults and forgive each other, "as the Lord forgave you." He summarizes this by saying that love is the ultimate "overcoat" that holds all of these virtues together in perfect harmony.

All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
