Be Kind & Compassionate To One Another, Forgiving Each Other, Just As Christ God Forgave You
No Longer The Victim, But The Victor

This is a central New Testament verse where the Apostle Paul calls believers to replace bitter, angry behavior with grace and forgiveness. It commands Christians to be kind, compassionate, and to forgive others just as God, through Christ, has forgiven them.
The verse breaks down into three actionable steps and one overarching motivation
It tells us, “Be kind”. Unlike mere politeness, biblical kindness (chrēstos) is proactive. It is a tangible expression of goodwill that seeks the best interest of others, even when they don't deserve it.
It goes on to say, be “tenderhearted”. The Greek word used here is eusplanchnoi, which literally translates to "well-bowed" or having deep inward compassion. It means operating with sympathy and gentleness rather than harshness or emotional coldness.
The verse then commands forgiveness. Forgiving (charizomai) means to freely grant favour or graciously cancel a debt. It is a conscious choice to let go of the penalty for an offense and not hold it against the person who wronged you.
The words “even as God in Christ forgave you” is the ultimate motivation and standard for a believer's behavior. Just as God forgave all sins through Christ's sacrifice—lavishly and undeservedly, believers are expected to extend that same forgiveness to others.
That is not to say that one must allow others to continue to wrong them, but rather, it means, just as Christ cancelled our debt of sin, we must cancel the debt of those who wronged us.
The wonderful thing about forgiveness, is that when someone wrongs us we become their victim, but through the power of forgiveness, he or she becomes the ultimate victor.
Therefore, make an active decision to forgive all who wronged you, and turn the “victim” into the “victor”.
