The Easter Sunday Celebration

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬

These words, “He is not here; for He has risen”,is the angelic proclamation of Jesus' resurrection.
It signifies victory over death, confirming Jesus' divinity, fulfilling prophecy, and grounding Christian faith in a historical, witnessed event.
Paul gives us absolute confirmation of Jesus death and resurrection, telling us, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭3‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The empty tomb is presented as evidence that Jesus’ promises are kept.
The angel points to the empty space where Jesus’ body had been, confirming that He is no longer there in the tomb.
This confirms a complete physical resurrection, not just a spiritual one, as the physical body is gone.
The words, "As He said", is the fulfillment of Jesus' own predictions about His death and resurrection, validating His reliability and authority.
An invitation from the angels to witness the evidence of the resurrection, with the words, “come and see”, primarily, to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, verifying the fact that the tomb was actually empty-Jesus’ body had gone from the tomb.
Easter Sunday is central to Christian faith, celebrating that not only had sin been defeated by the death of Jesus Christ, but death has been defeated too.
My beloved, the words “He is risen”, gives a confident hope of a wonderful eternal future to all who believe.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please like and share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
