Let Us Then Approach God's Throne Of Grace With Confidence, So That We May Receive Mercy And find Grace To Help Us In Our Time Of Need

Jesus Paid It All

HEBREWS 4:14-16
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
”‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭NKJV‬

In Old Testament times, before Christ paid the debt of sin, to the Jews, the high priest was the highest religious authority in the land.
He alone entered the Most Holy place in the Temple (the Holy of Holies) once a year to make atonement for the sins of the whole nation (LEVITICUS 16).
Before entering the Holy of Holies, a line would be attached to him, for if there was any sin in him, he would surely die, and would need be pulled out because sin cannot remain in Gods presence.
But today, because of what Christ has done, every Spirit filled believer can enter the most holy place through the blood, for He has been washed white as snow.
His record of sin has been washed away, and Christ clean record has been applied to his life.
Our old sinful man has been put to death, and we are born again into Christ.
“This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Like the high priest, Jesus mediates between God and us, but with the full authority of God. He represents humanity, and continually intercedes for us before God. As God's representative, He assures us of God's forgiveness providing we forgive those who wronged us.
Jesus has more authority than the Jewish high priest because He is God in human form (PHILIPPIANS 2:6-7)-fully man and yet, fully God. Unlike the high priest, who could only go before God once a year, Christ is always at the right hand of God, interceding for us.
Besides, Jesus said, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
He is always available to hear us when we pray.
In fact, because Jesus made us spiritually clean from all sin by His blood, each and every Spirit filled believer can enter the Holy of Holies and remain in God’s presence at any time.
“Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Church isn’t a building, nor should it be shaped by religion, every stone cut the same like bricks, but each stone uncut (EXODUS 20:25) and moulded individually by Christ to fit in perfectly (ISAIAH 64:8), that each part would perform perfectly within the body of which Christ, the cornerstone (EPHESIANS 2:19-22), is the head (EPHESIANS 4:11-16.)
Jesus understands our sin, the temptations, trials and challenges that we face daily, because He experienced the full range of temptation throughout His life as a human here on earth.
We can be comforted knowing that Jesus faced the same temptations as we face here today on this earth, and He can and does sympathise with us.
We can be encouraged knowing that Jesus faced temptation without giving in to sin. He is living proof that we don't have to give in to sin when facing the seductive lure of temptation. Even as a sinful man, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Furthermore, He has given us His Holy Spirit to help us, empower us, and lead us in truth and righteousness; He will never leave us or forsake us (JOHN 14:15-18). Jesus is the only perfect human being who never sinned. But we people all sinned. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Therefore, my beloved, we cannot be saved by keeping the Law; we have all sinned and are all in need of a Saviour.
Many say, God won’t send “nice people” to hell, those who give to the poor and help the needy, or do good. They say, “His grace is enough.”
But sadly, whilst we are saved by grace, it does not and cannot override justice. One’s eternal future must be justified by the blood of Jesus Christ which was spilled to pay the debt of sin.
It must be applied to one’s life through faith.
No other person or god paid our debt of sin, nor could.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
There is no other person qualified with the needed authority to save us.
Jesus is the ultimate judge. He alone will decide Your eternal future, not your Pastor, nor any other person living or dead, nor any other god or religious organisation can do that.
Jesus is the only way; He is the High priest who intercedes for us. He is only way to our Father in heaven.
While we can all pray for one another while living on this earth, we must come to Christ personally in faith; we must stand before Him in person, in repentance, and full submission, and yet, participate in relationship with Him.
The truth is, relationship is the only way to know Him well enough to believe on Him, and if we can’t make the effort to know Him while living on this earth, He warns us, He will refuse to know us when we pass (MATHEW 7:22).
Prayer is our approach to God, and we are to come to Him "boldly."
Some Christians approach God meekly with their heads hung low, afraid to ask Him to meet their needs. Others pray flippantly, giving little thought to what they say.
Therefore, come with reverence because He is your King. But also come with bold assurance because He is your friend and counselor.
Pray from your heart in the Spirit, and believe on His faithfulness.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, He is faithful to provide, not necessarily your wants, but your every need because He loves you, He has forgiven you, indeed He died for you, so you can stand firmly on His promises.
The truth is, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Jesus did it all, “For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭2‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Furthermore my beloved, even when it comes to provision, Jesus Himself gives us good advice, saying, ““Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬-‭34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
