V
David knew from experience what it meant to wait upon the Lord. He was anointed king at the young age of sixteen, but didn't actually become king until he was thirty.
During the interim, he had been chased through the wilderness by a very jealous king Saul who was set on taking David’s life.
David had to wait on God in the most challenging of circumstances for the fulfilment of his promise to reign.
When he became king, he was then chased by his rebellious son, Absalom.
Waiting for God isn't always easy, it often feels like God hasn't heard our prayers, or isn't answering them at all, or he doesn't understand the urgency of our situation; sometimes it feels like we are losing everything and have been abandoned completely.
That kind of thinking implies that God is not in control or doesn't care, but the truth is, God is always in control; He knows exactly what He is doing and the right time to act.
He knows what is needed in your life to fulfil your ministry, your life goals, as well as His, and build and change the way you think to get your priorities in order.
The change He brings in our lives is for our good not evil, and long-term (JEREMIAH 29:11).
My beloved, He is certainly worth waiting for. LAMENTATIONS 3:24-26 calls us to hope in Him and wait for the Lord, because He often uses time of waiting to refresh, renew, and teach us as He leads us through our trials and challenges (see JAMES 1:2-4).
Make good of your waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach you. Put your trust in Him, for He knows the best timing for your life and situations, even when it doesn't feel like that.
We see the picture in part, but God sees the whole picture and acts accordingly. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28 NKJV
Therefore, I ask you my brethren, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
