Rend Your Heart

2 Corinthians 9:7

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This verse states: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."It addresses the attitude behind generosity. It breaks it down into three core principles:1. Intentionality“...give what you have decided in your heart to give, “rather than giving impulsively, frantically, or based on guilt.
Paul suggests planning your giving prayerfully and in advance.
Giving should not feel like an emotional burden, an obligation, or a response to pressure. God values the motivation behind the offering far more than the amount given.
The word translated as "cheerful" in the original Greek is hilaros, which is where the English word hilarious comes from. It implies a giving spirit that is spontaneous, excited, and genuinely happy to bless others. Ultimately, this verse teaches that generosity is an act of worship. It reflects a heart of gratitude toward God rather than a transactional duty.
But giving is more than giving to the needy, it is giving to God.
It is the time we spend in prayer and ministry, and it is accepting one’s own call.
Giving is giving to God; it is putting down one’s own agendas,  goals, and desires and accepting God’s plans and purposes regardless.

Therefore, render not your garments, but your heart (JEOL 2:13).
Our call can seem a very difficult place to go, especially when he sends us to distant lands away from our family and loved ones, or places that put us in danger, or connects us to people that we didn’t choose, or He sends us to places we don't want to go or takes us away from our comfort zones.
If we are to remain cheerful and keep our peace in these places, we must trust God that He alone is always right, and that He will keep us safe. We must trust in His provision and His plans and purposes for our life. We must trust that His plans for our lives are far above our own plans and ideals.
Therefore, “Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, put your trust in God and be a cheerful giver, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
