Proverbs 9:10 tells us that true wisdom begins with a deep reverence and respect for God. By recognizing His supreme authority, you gain the right perspective on life, which naturally leads to good judgment and insight.
This doesn’t mean being terrified or scared of God. Instead, it refers to a healthy, humble awe, deep respect, and submission to obedience and His holiness . It is aligning your life with the understanding that He is the Creator, that He is always right, and that you are accountable to Him.
Wisdom requires a foundation. If you start with a man-centered view of the world or rely solely on your own limited understanding, you will likely arrive at flawed conclusions, but recognising that God is the starting point to making wise, moral, and practical choices, will take you on a path of success and righteousness.
Having knowledge of the Holy One goes beyond simply knowing about God; it’s about having a personal, growing relationship with Him.
Where wisdom is the practical application of knowledge, understanding is the deep insight into why things are the way they are. Knowing God’s character provides clarity and discernment.
Knowledge of the Lord brings the understanding that God is supreme, Holy, and always right, but understanding  of Scripture and revelation is something that we must ask for, we cannot gain it in our own power or abilities.

We can ask God for wisdom in any situation and He will give it liberally and without reproach. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

For let not than man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord (JAMES 1:5-7).
To be truly wise, you must acknowledge your own limitations and be willing to be corrected.
By filtering your decisions through your reverence for God, you can navigate life's complexities with peace and confidence.
For further insight, you can study cross-references like Psalm 111:10 and Proverbs 1:7, which reiterate this core biblical theme.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
