Set Your Minds On Things Above, Not Earthly Things
We Are Citizens Of Heaven
COLOSSIANS 3:2
“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Colossians 3:2 NKJV

The verse instructs believers to align their thoughts, values, and priorities with the eternal perspective of heaven, rather than being consumed by temporary, worldly concerns.
To constantly focus your attention, affections, and desires on God and His kingdom, means viewing everyday life through the lens of eternity," rather than on earthly things."
This does not mean completely ignoring daily responsibilities, work, or family. Rather, it warns against adopting the fallen, self-centred value system of the world and letting material anxieties dictate your life
This command is put into place by verse 1, which states that believers have been "raised with Christ." Because your spiritual life is hidden with Christ in God, your mindset should reflect your heavenly citizenship.
Paul contrasts "things above" with "earthly things." In the rest of Colossians 3, he explains that "earthly things" represent vices like greed, anger, and malice. Conversely, "things above" translate into everyday virtues, such as compassion, kindness, forgiveness, and peace.
Setting your mind on things above involves keeping your heart focused on where Christ is, which reorients how you handle earthly stresses, setbacks, and relationships.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
