This verse is a general guide for wise parenting rather than an absolute, ironclad guarantee.
This wisdom applies not only to parents bringing up children, but to every minister training up his or her congregation. We are all children of God.
Children learn from their parents, therefore, lead them by following the example of Jesus Christ.
The Word instructs believers to actively put into daily practice the godly teachings, actions, and lifestyle they learned from at the time, the Apostle Paul, promising that the "God of peace" will be with them. Just like Paul, every believer’s lifestyle must shine for Christ and be an example to follow.
Paul said, "What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me (Philippians 4:9), which points to his comprehensive ministry—everything the Philippians were taught orally, received in writing, heard in his messages, and personally observed in his behavior. He set a concrete, living example of how to follow Christ and live right.
The Book of Proverbs contains wise literature that describes general patterns of how life works, not a magical contract or unbreakable promise from God.
The Hebrew word for "train up" (hanak) means to dedicate, initiate, or set a narrow direction—much like guiding a young person toward good habits and a godly character.
If you teach children a solid foundation of faith and right behaviour when they are young, they will likely stick to those lessons as they grow older.
It does not mean a well-raised child will never rebel or stray.
Children just as adults possess their own free will and personal choices.
If an adult child walks away from their faith, it does not automatically mean the pastor or parents have failed or did something wrong. Unfortunately, in life children as do adults, will encounter many influences from outside their family and they shall choose their own path.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
