Whom Shall I Fear?

PSALM 27:1

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fear is the opposite of faith and is a dark shadow that hovers over us.

It finds its way into our hearts and minds and ultimately imprisons us within ourselves.

We have all become victim to fear at one time or another; imprisoned by the fear of rejection, misunderstanding, uncertainty, sickness, or even death.

Today, fear is being driven by the invisible enemy, Satan’s army of unclean spirits and demons (EPHESIANS 6:12) throughout every nation.

But their is an answer; we can overcome fear by trusting in the Lord, the light who brings salvation. “And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we want to dispel the dark shadow of fear that hovers over us today, let us remember what the psalm writer says: “The Lord is my light and my salvation.”

Fear and faith are opposites, like hot is the opposite of cold; the more faith, the less fear.

It takes but a mustard seed of faith to move the mountains in our life (MATHEW 17:20).

Fear is the route cause of most anxiety/depression; it is the food of depression.

Doctors cannot fully defeat depression, but they manage it with pills and counselling.

They say they can control it with pills and counsel. But if it needs controling, surely it is a spirit of fear living within you.

Furthermore, the worse your depression gets, the more pills it takes to manage it. The result is, the problem gets bigger and bigger, and opens more doors to other unclean spirits and demons like addiction, torment and you become dependant to the medication being used, and can even open doors to suicide spirits.

The truth is, the only long-term solution is to take away its authority over your life and drive these devil’s out.

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬

This invisible army will obey because it is subject to all believers (LUKE 10:17).

Depressive spirits cannot exists within you without fear.

Without fear anxiety/depression has no place in your life-no wonder the bible tells us some 365 times, “Do not fear.” That is once for every single day of the year.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬

Jesus is the only way to success in this life and the next, therefore put your trust in Him and remove your fears.

He is the truth-He never lies and always keeps His promises, therefore, now my brethren, is the time to ask God to remove your unbelief, get delivered, and stand on His promises (MARK 9: 14-29).

Jesus is our salvation; He is the only way to our Father in heaven.

He wants to be your strength and your shield, your rock, your fortress, and your Salvation. He wants to be your rock in whom you find protection (PSALM 18:2).

Trust Him, and He will help you.

The invisible enemy that looms over Gods people, destroying lives with addictions, stress, poverty, and all kinds of sickness and despair can only operate through your life if you allow them to by believing the lie, and continuing in sin.

“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God has given us much armour and weapons to stand against the enemy. The greatest of these is love; it is a weapon of mass destruction against the enemy.

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.”

‭‭I John‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My beloved, deliverance is key to healing and a changed life.

Sadly, most people come into the world demonised, for they are like squatters that have taken possession of a house. They live within to fulfil their own plans goals, and purposes.

They enter our flesh through sin, including the sins of our ancestors and will not leave until their authority is taken away and are driven out.

Once in, they manipulate one’s thoughts, desires, responses, beliefs, and behaviours.

Their purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy, your marriage, your life, your peace, and your eternal future. But Jesus came to give us life, and that we might have it abundantly (JOHN 10:10).

We humans are made up of three parts, spirit, soul, and flesh (1 THESSALONIANS 5:23).

We are spirits, before we was even born (JEREMIAH 1:5), our soul is our mind, will, and emotions  (PSALM 13:2; LAMENTATIONS 3:20), and our flesh is a vehicle for us to reside in this physical world.

Together, the spirit, soul, and body make a human being.

When a thief takes possession of a car, he can drive it anywhere, damage it, and even use it as a weapon to destroy others, but he doesn’t own it.

When caught he is forced out and it is returned to its owner.

It is the same with the demonic, they take possession through sin, but once their victim turns to God in repentance, resist the devil by commanding him out, he shall flee (JAMES 4:7).

When one gives his or her life to Christ, the holy Spirit joins with his or her spirit and he or she is saved.

For “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We, my beloved, become children of God, paid for at a very high price by the blood of Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When walking in obedience, the Holy Spirit manifests with cooperation of our soul, through flesh to do good works for the Kingdom and live right.

But when one falls back into sin, the Spirit retreats from the flesh and remains with the spirit to bring conviction to change. It feels like He has left us in the wilderness, but in time brings one to repentance.

Sin, allows unclean spirits and demons to enter through the flesh which is now empty of the Spirit to reside and influence our minds, will, and emotions, and will remain there until evicted.

We do the sinful things we hate and fail to do the things we ought (ROMANS 7:16-24) until we come to a place of repentance.

Thank God, for Jesus Christ who will deliver us from this life of misery (ROMANS 7:25) and set us free.

Finally my brethren, join together in David’s Psalm; an exuberant declaration of faith.

Your hearts will be filled with joy (PSALM 28:7) and God’s peace will come upon you; His peace that surpasses all understanding and it shall guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7).

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.” Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me. Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies. Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭1‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
