Walk In The Spirit

PROVERBS 20:7-9
“The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him. A king who sits on the throne of judgment Scatters all evil with his eyes. Who can say, “I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin”?
”‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:7-9‬ ‭NKJV‬

V

Not one of us is without sin. As soon as we confess our sin and repent, sinful thoughts and actions creep back into our hearts and minds.
The truth is, we inherited sin and we can't remove it ourselves.
We all need ongoing moment by moment cleansing that can only come by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
Thank God He provides just that-He provides forgiveness by His mercy when we ask for it in repentance.
He gave His own life on a cross to pay our debt of sin, and then, on the third day He defeated death once and for all time when He was risen 1 CORINTHIANS 50-58), justifying resurrection life to all who believe on Him, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
We believers must make confession and repentance a regular part of our prayers.
We must rely on God’s moment by moment help for the cleansing we need.
We are all sinners, and God is merciful and faithful to forgive, but that doesn't mean we can continue to do the same sinful things over and over.
Repentance is not just about being sorry, we must be willing to change every part of our lives that we walk with God and not against Him.
We must be at least willing to try to turn from our sin toward God, to meet God half way and walk In His righteousness.
But the truth is, we are not able to deal with sin in our own strength, especially as the devil is always close by with whispers of temptation and inappropriate thoughts and fantasies.
Furthermore, he will bring trials and tribulations and offer sinful short cuts as a way forward.
But if you really seek righteousness, God will empower you and make a righteous way in every situation for you.
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, we must walk the walk by putting into practice all we have learned and received from Jesus-everything we heard from Him and saw Him doing (PHILIPPIANS 4:9).
When those sinful thoughts come into your mind, take them captive and send them packing, “casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved call out to Jesus; sing to Him songs of praise and focus your mind on Him; distract your thoughts from sin and focus on “whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My brethren, we cannot continue to live in sin; we must separate from it.
Jesus died to defeat sin and redeem us from it, not that you can continue in it.
No one who continues in sin will inherit the kingdom of God (GALATIANS 5:21).
However, my beloved, we are blessed.
Jesus said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
God sent His Holy Spirit to help and guide us in all truth (JOHN 16:13), He will teach you all things and bring remembrance of all the things Jesus told us (JOHN 14:26).
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, God not only died on a cross to pay your debt of sin, He sent His Holy Spirit to help you all the way, to lead you in righteousness to produce good fruit with a promise that He will never leave us (JOHN 14:15:18).
But we must walk In that truth. And as Peter told us, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭38‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Yes, we shall make mistakes, but God knows about every sin that you have ever committed and will commit before receiving you into His kingdom.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The promise is to you and your children and to all who are far off, as many as the Lord chooses to call; blessed are they.
For “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, we all have a choice, to walk to satisfy the lust of our flesh, or to walk by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
It is impossible to be saved by our own works, for the flesh shall only satisfy its own lust.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:16-26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory to God forever and ever!
