I Do Believe, But Help Me With My Unbelief
Healing & Deliverance
MARK 9:23-24
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!””
Mark 9:23-24 NKJV

This Scripture is an encouragement to us all. It doesn’t mean that one may have anything he likes, but it does mean that however impossible one’s situation seems, it is possible to resolve it with God (LUKE 18:27; MATHEW 19:26); and that my brethren, includes the impossible situation you are facing today.
Here, Jesus was responding to a man who’s son had an evil spirit in him from birth that caused the boy to be mute and have convulsions (17).
Though he was demonised (possessed), the devil did not own him, but had authority to enter the boy through sin. Not necessarily the boy’s own sin, but maybe through the sin his ancestors.
The truth is, many people today are demonised through sin, not just their own sin, but through the sin of their ancestors and are subject to generational curses.
Many say possession is ownership, and the devil owns no one. But if a thief steals your car, he certainly has possession and he can drive where he likes, how he likes, and use it to cause damage and even destroy it.
But you still own it, and when caught and challenged, he has to leave it and the process of fixing the damage can start.
Our bodies are nothing more than a vehicle for our spirit to operate from in this physical world, and sin of the flesh separates us from God within the flesh and gives place to the devil to operate from within the flesh through our soul; our mind, will, and emotions to bring about wrong desires, cravings, thoughts, and actions, and inflicts our subconscious mind with lies, false beliefs which are strongholds of the mind.
But however, as for us Spirit filled believers, He cannot touch our spirit for our spirit is saved, sealed, and made perfect by the Holy Spirit, for “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”
Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV
When one receives the gift of the Holy Spirit, His Spirit joins with his or her spirit, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
Romans 8:14-17 NKJV
The Holy Spirit joins with one’s spirit and manifests through the flesh to do good works, and as Jesus said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.””
John 7:38 NKJV
Evil spirits are real (EPHESIANS 6:12), and if we leave a door open by our actions, responses, attitudes, or decisions, they will enter our bodies and influence us to do evil things.
They will torment and make our lives miserable and even try to take our lives. They bring sickness, fear, depression ,cancer, diabetes, epilepsy, and all other disabilities and health conditions.
The Holy Spirit, who unlike the evil spirits, gives us free will, and enters us only by agreement (covenant) as a good gift to be our helper (JOHN 14:16).
But however, we still have free will to walk in the Spirit or to fulfil the lust of the flesh (GALATIANS 5:16:26).
If one chooses to walk by the leading of the flesh and continue in sin, the Holy Spirit retreats from our flesh and remains quiet within our spirit.
It shall feel like He has left; like we are alone in the wilderness and gives the devil access in and the believer becomes demonised or possessed.
The good news is, the Holy Spirit shall never leave you (JOHN 14:15-18), but rather continues His work from within, bringing conviction to change (PHILIPPIANS 1:6).
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Romans 8:1-2 NKJV
James said, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
James 4:7-10 NKJV
Submit, repent, and turn from the sinful act that let the devil in and command the demons to leave (resist/ rebuke the devil). That is to verbally call him out, and then he shall flee from you.
The purpose of evil spirits is steal, and to kill, and to destroy (JOHN 10:10), and they do not ask for permission to enter, and will use your body for their evil purposes.
This man had faith, but found it hard to believe Jesus would help his son; at this point the disciples had already failed to cast out the demon (v18); maybe, because they needed to fast and pray in preparation (MARK 9:29).
After Jesus questioned the man’s faith, he asked Jesus for help with his unbelief.
Believers today know that God can heal and bring about miracles, but many find it hard to believe He will do it for them. But the truth is, God loves His people and every single one is His treasured possession (DEUTERONOMY 14:2).
My beloved, ask and it will be given to you.
Isaiah saw this and prophesied, “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:1-5 NKJV
Many Christians of today struggle to believe in the demonic, and blame anxiety, depression, confusion, self harm, eating and sleeping disorders, along with suicidal thoughts as mental health issues and of course they are, but the source is the devil and his army of unclean spirits and demons, and when evicted, healing follows, curses are broken and lives are restored that they may have it abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
Jesus words are an encouragement to us all. He said, “”Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
John 14:12-14 NKJV
Jesus cast out the demon and the boy was healed (v25-27).
In the same way all Spirit filled believers have authority to cast out demons (LUKE 10:17).
Not every demon comes out immediately by command, for some, prayer and fasting is needed (v29).
But if we come to God regularly with prayer and fasting will can be prepared and ready.
Jesus has given us authority over all evil spirits and demons and the powers of the devil (LUKE 10:17).
He gave us authority over all sickness, fear, depression, cancer, diabetes, Epilepsy, and all other health conditions. Furthermore, He said, the works He will do, you will do too! Yes, that means you; indeed even greater than Him, because He has gone to the Father in heaven (JOHN 14:12-14).
Therefore my brethren, ask God for help with your unbelief, and walk in the power and authority of the Holy Spirit that lives in you.
My beloved, Jesus commanded the twelve and commands all of us Spirit filled believers today, saying, “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Matthew 10:5-8 NKJV
Anyone can be “demonised” if the door has been left open, even by one’s ancestors, being a committed Christian does not stop them evil’s from entering; just a crack in the door and they will be in.
If you find yourself are suffering with long-term illness, or craving wrong things, doing what you hate, or failing to do as you ought (ROMANS 7:15-25), and/ or are struggling with repetitive sin, or depression or having suicidal thoughts, anger, or are caught up in some kind of addiction, or attracted to pornography or repetitive sinful acts, you yourself may be demonized, but you don’t have to live with it.
The truth is, deliverance is key to a changed life.
Therefore, get help from a ministry operating in the healing and deliverance and be set free from such evils, for as the word tells us, “And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.”
Joel 2:32 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
