We Take Captive Every Thought And Make It Obedient To Christ
The Battle Is On Our Knees
2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-6
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”
II Corinthians 10:3-6 NKJV

Like Paul, we are all mere humans and without Christ amount to nothing good or lasting.
But however, we do not need to rely on our own human strength, plans, or methods to win our battles.
In Christ we are more than conquerers (ROMANS 8:37), and nothing is impossible for us (LUKE 1:37; MATHEW 19:26; PHILIPPIANS 4:13).
God has made available to His people mighty weapons to use as we fight against the devil’s plans and purposes to kill, steal, and destroy (JOHN 10:10).
Our battles “are not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
Therefore, we believers must choose the battle field and whose methods to use, the worlds or God’s.
Our battles may appear to be with people and the systems of this world, and of course we must respond to physical attacks, but ultimately our battles are sourced from within the spiritual realms and therefore we must fight our on our knees.
Paul assures us that God’s mighty weapons; the Holy Spirit, prayer, faith, hope, love and God’s word together with our spiritual gifts (1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-11) are powerful. But if we are to battle effectively, God must be our commander and chief, and our every thought must be submitted to the Lord and to His control as we live for Him.
He is ready and willing to fight our battles, but we have to give them to Him in faith.
We need to respond by the leading of the Spirit, and ignore the passions of the flesh that draws us into anger, fear, revenge, and the lust of the flesh (GALATIANS 5:16-26).
My brethren, ““The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it (JEREMIAH 17:9).
The physical heart being part of the flesh cannot be trusted; it’s goal is to satisfy the lust of the flesh.
When we are exposed to ideas and opportunities that might lead us into sinful desires, actions, or methods, we must take them thoughts captive and bring them to the obedience of Christ. That includes fear, anger, rage, disappointment, and all negative emotions.
We must turn away from them toward God, otherwise we will allow those unhealthy thoughts to drag us into sin and despair (JAMES 1:14-15).
One captures his or her thoughts and desires when he or she honestly admits them to the Lord and ask Him to redirect their thinking.
The devil attacks are from the spiritual realms, but aimed at one’s emotions that we believe the lies.
He and his demons shall whisper negativity, hate, and temptations, and if not resisted firmly, the effects shall manifest into the physical; sexual immorality, selfishness, jealousy, offence, strong holds of the mind, broken marriages, addiction, poverty, sickness, torment, anxiety, depression, even suicidal thoughts and such things as these
If we are to effectively resist the devil and his evil schemes, we must take the battle into the spiritual realm-into God’s garden where He will fight for you.
He will take your humanly impossible situation, and make it possible (LUKE 18:37; MATHEW 19:26).
Our God given weapons can break down every proud human arguments against God, and the walls Satan puts in place to keep people from finding Him.
God’s weapons open doors of opportunity and soften the hardest of hearts and remove the lies that are passed on from generation to generation (strong holds of the mind), and those that come through false teachings, culture, old wives tales, and false religious beliefs (1 TIMOTHY 4:7).
God’s weapons ““Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons (MATHEW 10:8).
God’s weapons break the chains that hold us in poverty and despair, and bring about joy, contentment, and peace that surpasses all understanding and shall guard our hearts and minds through Christ (PHILIPPIANS 4:7).
God’s weapons tear down the lies of the enemy and break every strong hold the devil has on his victims.
God’s weapons bring truth and set the captives free (JOHN 8:31-32).
God’s weapon, bring peace where there’s no peace, joy in the chaos of this dark world, and lead us along the narrow path of salvation.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
