The Tongue Has The Power Of Life & Death, Those Who Love It Will Eat Its Fruit

There's No Place For Gossip & negativity In God's Kingdom

PROVERBS 18:20-21

“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭18:20-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God created heaven and earth with His word; He simply commanded His creation with one verse and it came to be; hence the “universe” was born.

Uni comes from the latin ūnus, meaning one.

The word verse comes from the Latin "versus" which meant "line of text". It later came to mean "line of poetry" and then "stanza", but the original meaning survives when we talk about chapters and verses in the Holy Bible.

When we put the two words together, we have universe, one verse from God and the heavens were made.

God created us humans in His own image, and since we are His children, what we say has great power too.

If we speak negativity, we will reap negativity, if we speak positivity we will reap positivity. It’s that simple, we reap that what we sow (GALATIANS 6:7-9).

Speaking negativity is cursing yourself or others and is nothing less than witchcraft.

What passes our lips satisfies our stomach; inner satisfaction comes from true and good speech.

“Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.”

‭‭James‬ ‭3:5-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

What you say can destroy or bless yourself and others. Therefore, do not underestimate the power of your tongue; keep it on a short leash.

The truth is, one cannot control his or her own tongue in one’s own strength; we need the help of the Holy Spirit within us , along with a very disciplined attitude, for no man can tame the tongue.

My beloved, it is time to put to death all gossip and negative words; it is time you speak blessings not curses, and life, not death. It is time with God’s help to tame our tongues.

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭27‬ NKJV

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
