Psalm 100:5 tells us that God is permanently good, His love never stops, and He keeps His promises to every single generation.
One key part of the verse is “For the Lord is good".
God's core character is kind, wholesome, and generous. He is completely reliable and safe to trust, unlike the unpredictable false gods of the ancient world.
His steadfast love endures forever", for God's love (often translated as mercy or loyal love) has no end. He offers forgiveness and compassion repeatedly, no matter our failures.
“His faithfulness to all generations" tells us that God's truth and reliability do not expire. The same care He showed to people in the past, He gives to people today and will give to future children and families.
This verse serves as the main reason for the entire psalm's call to worship. Because God is good all the time and never changes, people can enter His presence with gladness, peace, and thanksgiving.
