Work Willingly At Whatever You Do, As Though Working For The Lord Rather Than People
Humbly Shine For Christ
COLOSSIANS 3:22-25
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.”
Colossians 3:23-25 NKJV

Paul does not condemn nor condone slavery, but explains, Christ has no favourites, rich or poor, slave or free, He transcends all divisions between people; He loves us all.
The truth is, God wants no one to perish but for all to come to Him in repentance (2 PETER 3:9), and that includes you and all your enemies.
We believers belong to Christ and are called to serve Him night and day in all things as opportunities come.
We should look at our work place, and everywhere we go as opportunities to reach out to the lost sheep of Israel and tell them about Jesus. We can do this by the way we conduct ourselves and our words, actions, and responses.
Shining for Christ attracts people to Jesus.
The lost are not likely to mysteriously knock on your door and ask you about Jesus, or walk in to your church Sunday morning, therefore we must take church into the streets and communities and search out all with ears to listen.
You will find them in your work place, the supermarket and local shops; you will find them in the parks and outside your children’s school when you drop them off and collect them; you will find them on Facebook and other platforms . But you won’t attract the lost by condemning them because of their sin; only through love and good works in Christ will you shine for Him.
Christ didn’t come to condemn, and nor should we, but rather show them the love of Christ that is in you.
Everyday is filled with opportunities that so often pass unseen.
The workplace is full of opportunities to shine for Christ and get to know people, build relationships, and demonstrate Jesus way and the Father’s love.
Slaves were told to willingly work hard as if they were working directly for Christ Himself (COLOSSIANS 3:22-24).
The same can be said in the work place today. All believers are all called to willingly work hard without complaining as if working directly for the Lord.
The truth is, we believers are called to live for Christ and must be seen as different, shining for Christ.
Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (MATHEW 5:16).”
But masters should also be just and fair. Paul went on to say, “Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven (COLOSSIANS 4:1).
Jesus has no favourites, neither your status nor your money puts you above anyone, we are all called to serve Christ. For “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all (EPHESIANS 4:4-6).
Christ is our Master and we are all ultimately answerable to Him.
Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me (MATHEW 25:40).’”
How we treat others is how we treat Christ.
John told us, “If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also (1 JOHN 4:20).
Love is more than simple words or a feeling, it is an action of care toward others that comes from choice; it is a way of life, Jesus way.
My beloved every day in everything we do is an opportunity to humbly serve Christ.
Therefore, work willingly at whatever you do as though working for the Lord rather than for people and regardless of one’s position, remain humble.
Jesus said, ““Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.””
Luke 18:10-14 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
