This verse is a song of worship in heaven where elders praise God because He made everything. It says, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being".
John looks into heaven and sees God on a high throne and heavenly creatures and 24 elders bow down, take off their crowns, and lay them before the Most High.
My beloved, God deserves the highest praise because of who He is and what He has done.
The words Glory, Honor, and Power mean giving back to God the deep respect, high value, and total authority that belong to Him alone.
He is the ultimate creator of all things in the universe and they exists only because God chose to make it and keep it alive by His power.
To get a better understanding of Revelation 4:11, we need to look at the surrounding verses in chapters four and five.
Revelation 4 and 5 describe a magnificent vision of the heavenly throne room, focusing on God as the Creator, the sealed scroll, and Jesus as the Lamb who alone is worthy to open it.
John sees a throne in heaven with God sitting on it, shining like precious stones and surrounded by a green rainbow.
Twenty four elders in white clothes and gold crowns sit around the throne, representing God's people.
Four unique winged creatures full of eyes praise God without stopping.
The beings worship God as the one who created all things and deserves all glory.
God holds a scroll with seven seals, representing future history or the title deed to the earth. An angel asks who is worthy to open it, but no one is found.
John weeps until an elder tells him that Jesus, the Lion of Judah and Root of David has won and He alone is worthy.
Jesus appears as a Lamb that was slain, showing the power of His sacrifice.
The Lamb takes the scroll from God, causing heaven to erupt in new songs of praise.
Angels, elders, and every creature in creation join together to worship both God and the Lamb for their redemptive power.
My beloved, we are called to wholeheartedly worship our God the creator of all things, for He not only created all things, but successfully redeemed His people from the power of sin and death. He has the title deeds of earth in His hand, He has won the battle, and only He is worthy of the praise, honour, and glory.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
