Do Good And Share With Those In Need
Keep Your Motives Right
HEBREWS 13:15-16
“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
Hebrews 13:15-16 NKJV

A “sacrifice of praise” would include thanking Christ for His sacrifice on a cross and telling others about it. The truth is, God deserves every praise, He gave up His life on a cross that we might live, so surely our lips should continually confess His name in praise and honour.
Yet in one’s typical day, how many times do we hear God’s name used profanely?
We believers should turn our frequency toward praise! Our everyday should start in praise, and continue in regular thanksgiving and praise as we go through our day until the finish.
Jesus suffered an agonising death on a cross for you, that you may not suffer the consequence of sin and receive the gift of life.
My beloved, are you ready to live for Him by simply reaching out to others in need and sharing the Good News?
Jesus said, “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Matthew 10:5-8 NKJV
Surely in this temporary life, knowing that the best is yet to come, we can devote our time to serving God by reaching out to the lost and needy in the streets and communities, bringing them to the feet of Jesus. Surely, we can make God’s work priority in our lives.
A part of our sacrifice to God is helping the needy. Jesus said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
Matthew 25:40 NKJV.
When you give to the needy, your act of kindness goes directly to Jesus as a sacrifice for Him.
Furthermore, while your act of kindness may go unnoticed by people, God sees everything, your acts of kindness never goes unnoticed by Him, they are pleasing to God and He will bless you for it, not necessarily in this life, but most certainly in the next.
Jesus said, ““Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.””
Luke 6:37-38 NKJV
Holy living and service to God is a way of life in God’s kingdom, and that is the least one can do (ROMANS 12:1-2).
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:19-25 NKJV
Helping the needy is a part of Christian life, but with the right motives and by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Giving outside of Gods leading is foolishness, and may in time place one in poverty, and could undermine the work of God in the lives of others.
“Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.”
Luke 6:36 NKJV
But give only by the leading of the Holy Spirit with a joyful heart, giving consideration of what Jesus told us.
“”Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.”
Matthew 6:1-4 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
