I Am Sure That What We Are Suffering Now Cannot Compare With The Glory That Will Be Shown To Us
Hang On To The Promise
ROMANS 8:18-25
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

V
We Spirit filled believers see the world as it is, physically decaying and spiritually infected with sin. Never before has there been such a time as this. Manufactured pestilence, damaging vaccines, restrictions, and unreasonable controls placed upon the people.
We see terrorism and instability world wide.
The world financial systems are collapsing, businesses are closing, and poverty is rising.
We see fear hovering the world and many are falling under the weight of depression and suicide.
Sin has caused all creation to fall from the perfect state in which God created it.
The world is in bondage to death and decay and cannot fulfill its intended purpose.
But we believers do not need to be pessimistic because we have the confident hope of God’s future glory, that one day all creation will be liberated and transformed. Until that time we wait in eager expectation for the resurrection of God's children knowing that no testings will be more than we can stand (1 CORINTHIANS 10:13).
We can look forward to a new heaven and earth that God has promised, and the new order that will free the world from sin, sickness, and all evil, and death shall be no more (REVELATION 21:3-4).
Meanwhile, we believers can go with Christ into the world, healing people's bodies and souls, brining true deliverance from the chains of the devil as we fight the evil effects of sin in this world today (MATHEW 10:8).
It is true that we are to see a rise in the evil demonic powers that hold this world in bondage, but even more, we shall all become witness to God’s power and glory as He reaches out to His chosen people in truth and justice as we approach the glorious coming day of the Lord.
The day is approaching when God’s people shall be resurrected with glorified bodies like the body Christ now as in heaven (see 1 CORINTHIANS 15:25-58).
We have the first installment, the foretaste or down payment of future glory, the Holy Spirit, as a guarantee of our resurrection life (see 2 CORINTHIANS 1:22; 5:5; EPHESIANS 1:14).
My brethren, children naturally trust their parents, even though parents sometimes fail to keep their promises. But our Heavenly Father never makes promises that He cannot or will not keep.
However His plan may take more time than we expect. The truth is, it is going to get even more uncomfortable, but we can be sure of the ultimate victory we all have in Christ. We can be sure regardless of what is happening in this broken world of today, of a wonderful new heaven and earth, and our new bodies, rest and rewards, our eternal family and home, the absence of sin and suffering, and being forever face to face with Jesus!
Now that's a future well worth waiting for.
But rather than acting like impatient children, be calm and obedient, as we wait for God's will to unfold.
We believers need to work with the Lord according to His plans and purposes rather than ours, and to be patient and have confidence in God's perfect timing.
In the book of Romans, Paul presents the idea that salvation is past, present, and future. It is past because we were saved the very moment that we believed in Jesus Christ as our Saviour (3:21-26; 5:1-11; 6:1-11,22-23).
Our new eternal life begins in that very moment.
It is present because we are being systematically saved; this is the process of sanctification. But we have not yet fully received all the benefits and blessings of salvation that will be ours when Christ’ new Kingdom is completely established. That is our future salvation.
While we can be confident of our salvation, we still look ahead with hope and trust toward that complete change of body and personality that lies beyond this life, when we will be like Christ.
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
I John 3:2-3 NKJV
My beloved, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
