Proverbs 3 gives us a godly path to a blessed life through total reliance on God rather than human understanding.
Trusting God completely, acknowledging Him in all decisions, fearing the Lord, and embracing wisdom to achieve peace, security, and favour are key to a blessed life.
The chapter highlights that true wisdom provides divine guidance, protection, and long life.
Some people only commit their work to the Lord superficially. They claim the project is being done for the Lord, but in reality, it is their own desire, plan, or outcome they desire.
The same can be said in churches. Some leaders build their own fire, rather than fuel the fire God established.
Even in some sermons and worship, rather than glorify God, and I’m not saying all, but both the leaders and the congregation worship the music, or the sermon, or the performance, and it becomes an idol.
Many give God temporary control of their interests, only to take it back the moment things stop going the way they hoped, and others commit a task fully to the Lord, but put no real effort into it themselves. No wonder so many good plans fail to succeed.
The core message of this chapter emphasizes trusting God with all your heart, not just part of it, and actively acknowledging Him in all aspects of life
(verses 5-6).
Verses 7 warns us against arrogance, urging us not to rely on our own flawed understanding, feelings, or intellect.
It is important to commit every plan to God before we start, being certain it is of God, maintaining a delicate balance of trusting Him as if everything is dependent on Him, but at the same time, working like everything is dependent on us.
Furthermore, when a project is not going to plan, before taking any different actions , ask God for direction.
Wisdom is portrayed as a treasure that brings long life, peace, and security (verses 13-26), and if we are to be successful, we need to ask for God’s wisdom, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”
James 1:6 NKJV
The truth is, as Christians, we must remember that we are servants of God, not the other way round. The outcome is God’s outcome, not ours.
My beloved, ask God at the start of every day, “Lord, what is Your plan for Me today? As Paul told us, if You stay close to God and ask, He will not only give you the desire to do His will, but also the power to do it (PHILIPPIANS 2:13).
But His instruction is often step by step, so be patient and wait on the Lord. Don’t try to go ahead of Him our great teacher, for everything is in His perfect timing not yours.
Verses 27-35 highlights basic practical behaviours of Christian life, including honesty, generosity, and avoiding unnecessary conflict, which will result in finding favour with both God and people.
The truth is, You can do all things through Christ who is your strength (PHILIPPIANS 4:13), but only when you give Him full control and one remains totally obedient to His instruction however bizarre that may seem.
Hesitation and fear will bring panic and discontent, while obedience will bring peace.
My beloved, God is always right.
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please like and share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
God bless you all.
