Soul Ties, Demons, & Generational Curses
May Your Whole Spirit, Soul, & Body Be Preserved
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
I Thessalonians 5:23 NKJV

We humans are made up of three parts, spirit, soul, and body.
Each part has needs, wants, cravings, and desires, like we are three persons in one.
That is to say, by the three parts, soul, spirit, and body, we become a human being.
To live godly lives, we must make our spirit king, subject to the King of kings.
We must make our soul, servant to the king, and our flesh, slave-a vehicle to operate from in this physical world.
But the flesh chooses otherwise and is determined to take dominion to satisfy it’s own lust before anything else. It is that sinful nature that we must put to death.
We are spirit beings, for in Gods image He made us (GENESIS 1:27).
The word Father is a title, as is the word Son, but Spirit is what God is, “the Holy Spirit”. He always was and always will be (ISAIAH 43:12; HEBREWS 13:8), including Jesus Christ who is fully God and fully human (PHILIPIANS 2:6; ISAIAH 43:13-21; JOHN 1:1-18).
God created us spirit beings in His image-He knew us before we was flesh; before we were in our mother’s womb (JEREMIAH 1:5).
Our soul, which is our mind, will, and emotions, is the realm of decision.
The Bible describes the soul (nephesh in Hebrew, psuche in Greek) as the whole person, embodying life, emotions, and desires, rather than just an immaterial ghost. Key verses highlight its creation by God (Genesis 2:7), its need for spiritual restoration (Psalm 23:3), and its eternal nature (Matthew 10:28).
The soul is one’s mind, will, emotions, and brings about personality.
Your mind, what you imagine. Your will, what you want. Your emotions, what you feel.
The soul is the neutral ground between the body and the spirit. It is the place where free will is exercised and all our decisions are made, whether from the flesh or spirit.
The soul is eternal, and everyone has a soul, either redeemed or unredeemed.
The battle is over our souls.
When our physical life ends, our spirit returns to God, our flesh returns to dust, but our soul will continue forever, either in Gods presence or not.
Jesus said, “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew 16:26 NKJV
If a man loses his soul, we must ask ourselves, who to?
If one doesn’t belong to God, he belongs to the devil."
Therefore, "Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well. Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. “Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “All is vanity.”"
Ecclesiastes 12:6-8 NKJV
In other words, remember your creator before It is too late.
Our body is the physical vessel that we operate from in this physical world, from the dust of the earth we were made, and shall also return (GENESIS 3:19).
When one becomes saved, God’s Spirit joins with his or her spirit and he or she becomes one spirit with Christ (1 CORINTHIANS 6:17)."
One's spirit is made perfect, he becomes a new creation (2 CORINTHIANS 5:17), and he or she is saved.
But his or her flesh continues with his or her sinful nature and a battle begins between the flesh and the spirit (GALATIONS 5:17).
Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her?
For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him."
”I Corinthians 6:15-17 NKJV
When one receives the gift of the Holy Spirit (see JOHN 14:15-18), he or she is saved. For “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
”Ephesians 1:11-14 NKJ
As is written, “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
”Romans 8:12-17 NKJV
The Spirit via the soul, when in obedience to Christ, though He abides with one's spirit, manifest Himself to do good works through the flesh and then the signs and wonders follow (JOHN 4:48; ACT 2:43), and out of the belly/ heart, shall flow rivers of living waters (JOHN 7:38).
Therefore, It is not I, but Christ in me that does it all (GALATIONS 2:20).
For God gives us the desire to do what pleases Him, and empowers us to do it (PHILIPHINES 2:13).
Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
”James 2:17 NKJV
We all have choice, to walk to satisfy the flesh, or walk in the Spirit. (GALATIANS 5:16-26).
When one indulges in sexual intimacy with another, the two become one flesh, and soul ties are joined, both godly and ungodly; hence, you become one flesh whether married (GENESIS 2:24; MATHEW 19:5; MARK 10:8;EPHESIANS 5:31), or not (1 CORINTHIANS 6:16).
Furthermore, since we are the bride of Christ (REVELATION 19:7-9), we commit adultery when we worship other gods, objects, and people, which opens doors to demons and ungodly soul ties. It’s important to know that God is a jealous God (EXODUS 34:14).
Jesus said, ““You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
”Matthew 5:27-28 NKJV
When we commit adultery we become one flesh with that person through the flesh and soul ties are created.
The harlot is not just someone across the street, she is also false religious organisations and idolatry, for we are the bride of Christ.
Furthermore, we create strings of soul ties from one person to another, through sexual partners as we all become one flesh.
The soul ties connect person to person and are a direct passage for the demonic to pass from one person to another, for sin aligned us with the demonic and brings them all into agreement with the devil and we have all become one with those we indulge with and their sexual partners, joined together by soul ties.
To close the doors to the demonic, one must repent of all sin, and cut off all ancestral sin (generational curses), all ungodly soul ties, and every false belief (strong holds of the mind).
Sadly we humans are only observable creatures that continue in self-destruct behaviours in spite of the negative consequences.
in simple terms, it is like we have two brains, the conscious mind, and the unconscious.
The unconscious is located in the very centre of our brain and is called the limbic system or survival brain.
the limbic system that operates the automatic responses in life and is responsible for learning ways to help us cope and survive. It is connected directly to one's heart; hence, "believe with your heart".
If allowed, it controls our emotions as well as our physical and behavioural responses to life.
One's survival brain is designed to increase his or her chance of survival through adaption. It also produces fear and painful feelings to help and teach us to avoid harmful things.
It is programmed, not by words, but rather experience, and its memories are emotional, not cognitive.
Furthermore, it acts independently from the conscious mind and can override one's will, emotions, and responses, and actually shut down the conscious mind.
The subconscious mind believes what it experiences, such as sexual experiences; one learns to be homosexual if the experience felt good, and then it can make one believe that they are a male in a female body and such lies as these. It can see alcohol and drugs as a good experiences or medication and records them as helpful: hence addiction is born.
The devil understands these things very well and is able to manipulate if allowed, and inflict our belief systems with lies and false doctrines from the pits of hell.
Through the limbic system, the unconscious mind rightly or wrongly, decides what is true and what is not through experience and cannot be changed by the conscious mind or human input regardless of the facts. Hence, we believe the lies and are held in bondage.
The false doctrines and lies are strongholds of the mind, and to remove them, we need God's help, to be torn down and replaced with truth.
Believing false doctrines and lies often confirmed by the limbic system, is coming into agreement with the devil and opens doors of bondage and possession.
If every door is not shut and secured, after deliverance, these demons shall return and enter with demons seven times more powerful than themselves and their victim will be in a worse state than before (MATHEW 12:45).
When one falls into sin, the Holy Spirit retreats from his or her flesh, but remains connected to his or her spirit and starts a work of conviction to repentance and change.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
”Romans 8:1 NKJV
Rather than condemn, He convicts repentance and change from within. Though it can certainly feel like the Spirit has condemned and left us, but true to His word, Jesus promised not to leave us orphans
(JOHN 14:18).
However, sin makes way for the demonic to enter through the flesh, for the Spirit dwells with one's spirit, not the flesh.
Like squatters, they make one’s body there home-they take possession, and are able to influence one’s beliefs, wants, likes, behaviours, and desires.
Many say, the devil cannot possess anyone, for possession is ownership. But when someone steals a car, he has possession and can drive it anywhere, breaking laws and causing damage, but when caught, the vehicle must be returned to its rightful owner-he never owned it, but he took possession of it.
Furthermore, demons are able to impersonate the Holy Spirit and convince him or her that their thoughts are from God. Hence false prophets appear, along with false teachers and doctrines, all of which if one believes, are in agreement with the devil.
Hosea said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
”Hosea 4:6 NKJV
Paul himself struggled with the demonic, he said, “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.
”Romans 7:15-20 NLT
Since Paul claimed, he wasn’t doing the sin, but the sin living within him was doing it, therefore, he was referring demons as sin.
Demons not only enter one’s body through one’s own sin, but also the sin of his or her ancestors that bring generational curses.
God spoke through Moses, saying, ““I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. “You must not have any other god but me. “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins (doors to demons) of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.
”Exodus 20:2-6 NLT
(See also EXODUS 34:7).
The demonic entities are passed on to our children, not only from our sin, but the sin of our ancestors, and bring generational curses and false doctrines through the blood lines.
In order to be free from the demonic we must break such curses, and cut all the ungodly soul ties, and the ancestral lines, going back through the generations.
As James told us, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
”James 4:7 NKJV
To submit to God, is to repent, and sin no more, or at least be willing.
Without repentance, those devils are going nowhere.
Resist them, and sin no more, then they shall flee.
Even then, like squatters, because they entered legally through sin, they must be taken before the Judge, Jesus Christ, and be legally evicted.
Jesus Himself, cast out demons; they didn’t simply leave, putting up arguments, they tried to sit firm, but like a dog, they respond to firm commands with fear and the pain of fire and blood from God's word, and eventually leave (MARK 1:23-26; MARK 5; LUKE 11:14-26).
We believers must bring them before Christ , in the courts of heaven, tick the boxes, and then command them to come out.
Paul went on to say, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
”Romans 7:24-25 NKJV
The good news is, we believers have authority over the demonic, to heal the sick, raise the dead, cure leprosy, and cast out demons (MATHEW 10:8).
But it is not “I, but Christ in me that does it.
”The devil has many evil schemes up his sleeve to mislead and tempt us believers; He came only to steal, kill, and destroy (JOHN 10:10).
He uses hurts, lies, and trauma to bring us into offence with little whispers to open doors to the demonic.
He uses our words which he often manipulates, to bring curses, along with all kinds of witchcraft.
Whether we speak over ourselves or others, our words are either blessings or curses, and life and death are in the power of the tongue (PROVERBS 18:21)."
"With it (our tongues) we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
”James 3:9-18 NKJV
Therefore, my beloved, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. Brethren, pray for us. Greet all the brethren with a holy kiss. I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read to all the holy brethren. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen."
