We Should Honor God And Try To Be Completely Like Him

Remain Obedient Regardless Because You Have Wronged No One

2 CORINTHIANS 7:1-4
“Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one. I do not say this to condemn; for I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.
”‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬

These verses are a call to holiness and a reaffirmation of apostolic love, where Paul urges believers to purify themselves based on God's promises and expresses deep affection for the Corinthians. He calls for mutual openness, declaring his integrity and joy in them despite facing severe afflictions.
But holiness is no longer keeping the Law, it is walking in the Spirit (GALATIANS 5:16-26).
The starting place of cleansing is a two fold action, turning away from sin and turning toward God. But deep cleansing involves confronting the hurts and traumas that we have suffered from birth and removing every lie that has been planted within our subconscious mind. These are strong holds of the mind and must be replaced with truth.
Furthermore, we must cut all ungodly soul ties and break all generational and none generational curses and cancel and break every demonic assignment over our lives.
The next step is to cast out every demonic power, unclean spirit, and demon that has taken up residence within our flesh.
Paul starts with "Therefore, since we have these promises..." referring to God's promises in 2 Corinthians 6 to live among them and be their Father. Because of this intimate relationship, believers are encouraged to actively make every effort to cleanse themselves from all "filthiness of the flesh"—meaning both moral impurities and impure thoughts or attitudes.
But it is important to remember that as Spirit filled believers, we are no longer under the Law, but rather Gods grace.
Therefore, we are to submit to God, not the Law.
All the religious practices are now nil and void. They were put into place to pay for sin for those under the Law in Old Testament times, but Christ paid it all with His own blood and the Law does not apply to us believers today.
At times God will take us to places in life that are contrary to our understanding and beliefs, but we can be certain that He is always right.
Therefore, “I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭14‬-‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
"Having these promises" refers back to 2 Corinthians 6:16-18, where God promises to be their God, walk among them, and be a Father to them.
We believers are to “Cleanse ourselves".
This is a proactive, cooperative role in sanctification (working with God) not just waiting passively for change. It means to be cooperative with God, presenting your bodies a living sacrifice (serving and being obedient regardless), holy and acceptable to God, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Not being conformed to this world is to disregard it’s ways and systems such as life structures, wild parties, religious activities, and the opinions of what it thinks. It is doing one’s best to remain obedient to worldly laws but not at the cost of disobedience to God. It is to submit not to the world, nor people, but to God in all things.
The “Fear of God" is holding God in reverence and taking His word seriously, not living in terror, but in peace, knowing that He sees all things and He is always right.
Paul tells us, “Make room in your hearts.” He was telling them and us today to accept Jesus, His plans and His purposes for your life regardless, defending his integrity by stating, "we have wronged no one, we corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one"."To die together and to live together,” which expresses his deep love, indicating his commitment to them is profound, and not meant for condemnation.
God may lead you into a place that might because of their lack of understanding, bring condemnation from others. But Paul is encouraging us believers to remain obedient regardless, for you wrong no one in your obedience to Christ, for you walk in the Spirit, not to satisfy your own lust, but to fulfil the purposes of God.
Despite their previous troubles, Paul boasts about the Corinthians, expressing his great confidence in them.
Finally, Paul finds comfort and joy in their change of heart, even amid his own ongoing trials and afflictions. Which should be the attitude of every apostolic minister of God.
It is very humbling to see people taken of the roundabout of despair into a place of peace, joy, and confidence in the Lord.
Through the process of deep cleansing, change starts with freedom, sanctification, healing and then transformation.
It is then that new doors of opportunity shall open.
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭34‬-‭36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen
