My Grace Is Sufficient For You, For My Power Is Made Perfect In Weakness
A Thorn In My Side
2 CORINTHIANS 12:9
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
II Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

This verse tells us that when we feel weak, helpless, or inadequate, God’s unmerited favour and love (grace) are all we need to endure. Instead of removing our struggles, God uses our human limitations as a canvas to display His perfect power and strength.
God’s strength is enough to sustain you, even when your own strength is completely gone. He promises to provide exactly what you need, when you need it.
When you admit that you are weak and rely on God, you get out of the way so His power can be fully displayed in your life.
The Apostle Paul was dealing with a deeply personal, ongoing hardship he called a "thorn in the flesh". Scholars debate what this "thorn" was (a physical ailment, an emotional burden, or a spiritual opponent). The truth it was both and we know it caused him great distress. Paul begged God to take it away, but God answered "no," choosing instead to give him the grace necessary to bear it.
At times God refuses to completely heal us in this life-like he did with Paul, he uses the thorn to keep us dependent on Him, and through our weakness He is strong and our strength is made perfect in weakness.
Paul said, he would rather boast in his infirmities (spirits of infirmity), so that the power of Christ may rest upon Him.
Without dependence on Christ, we shall rely on our own power to do Gods work, but when we are totally dependent on Gods power, the signs and wonders shall follow (MARK 16:17-18).
Because of this promise, Paul wrote that he would actually "boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses". This means that instead of hiding your flaws, limitations, or struggles, you can embrace them. In Christianity, weakness is not a sign of failure; it is an opportunity to rely on Christ and experience His power working in and through you.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
