We Are Not Fighting Flesh And Blood

EPHESIANS 6:10-20
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

Here, the Apostle Paul describes Christian life as a spiritual battle against unseen demonic forces, calling believers to rely on God's strength and to put on the Armor of God.
Believers are commanded to be strong "in the Lord and in the strength of his might," rather than relying on personal willpower or capability.
The conflict is not against other human beings ("flesh and blood"), but against spiritual forces, rulers, authorities, and spiritual powers of darkness.
The goal is to stand firm (histemi) and withstand the devil's schemes in difficult days, such as temptations, trials, troubles.

The armor uses Roman military equipment as a metaphor for spiritual readiness, focusing primarily on a defensive stance to hold ground won by Christ, living in and anchoring oneself in God’s truth against deception.
The breast plate of righteousness is the heart through the moral and imputed righteousness of Christ.
Notice, there’s no back plate-we cannot run from these demonic forces, nor the trials and challenges that they bring, but rather, we have the protection of the breast plate to confront and overcome.
The shoes of the Gospel of peace are standing firm with a readiness and stability that comes from the good news of peace.
The shield of faith is deflecting and extinguishing the "flaming darts" (doubts, temptations, or attacks) of the evil one.
The helmet of salvation is protecting the mind with the assurance and hope of eternal salvation.
Finally, the Sword of the Spirit is the single offensive tool listed, which is identified directly as the Word of God.

Prayer is the action that activates and sustains the armor; a believer without prayer remains spiritually ineffective.
Believers are told to pray "at all times in the Spirit" with all kinds of prayers and supplications, remaining alert and persevering for all saints.
Paul concludes by asking for prayer for himself—an "ambassador in chains"—that he may declare the gospel fearlessly as he ought to speak.
Paul’s request for prayer is an example to follow-we all need prayer regardless of our position in ministry.
All glory be to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
