I Waited Patiently For The Lord, He Turned To Me And Heard My Cry For Help
Wait And Allow God To Put A New Song In Your Mouth
PSALM 40:1-3
“I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD.”
Psalms 40:1-3 NKJV

It is never easy waiting for God to help, but like David we can receive many benefits from waiting.
God lifted him from despair, took him out of the pit and stood him on solid ground.
God established his steps and put a new song in his mouth-a song of joy, rather than sadness, a song of praise to the Lord.
As we face our daily troubles it can feel like we have fallen into a horrible pit with no way out, like we are stuck in miry clay. But like David we need to wait on God patiently, and in His perfect timing, He will lift us up, stand us on solid ground, and put a new song in our mouths-a song of joy, and contentment, a song of peace and security, a song of praise to the Lord, for the joy in the Lord, is our strength (NEHEMIAH 8:10).
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV
Again I tell you, “”Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the
river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
