Resist The Devil

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
”‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NKJV‬

Temptation keeps prodding us, pulling and pushing us, and pressing us, to drag us into sin.
In a culture filled with moral depravity and sin inducing pressures, we all come to the point when we think we cannot resist it any longer.
Temptation is one of the devil’s tools that he uses to cause us to fall; he uses it to make sin seem harmless and impossible to resist.
It is neither, but however, when we commit acts of sin for the first time, we are overcome by guilt and shame, but if continue in the practice, both the feeling of guilt and shame will become less and less, and eventually we won’t consider our actions as sinful at all.
Our deceitfull hearts constantly attempt to justify our sin by telling us such as, “everyone is doing it”, “it’s normal in today’s world”, “it’s harmless”, and so on.
My brethren, sin is not harmless; anyone who continues in sin will not see the Kingdom of God (GALATIANS 5:19-21).
Furthermore, sin allows the devil in to take possession of certain parts of one’s life (MARK 5:15) and like squatters, make one’s body their home and influence his or her decisions, responses, behaviours, and actions; and will bring all kinds of torment and misery, sickness, depression, and even suicidal thoughts into daily life.
Many say that the devil can’t possess anyone because possession is ownership.
But when someone steals a car, he takes possession; he can drive anywhere, damage it, or even use it to damage others, but when caught, he must give it back to its rightful owner.
Paul’s words encourage us today as they did the Corinthians about temptation. He said that temptation does not single anyone out, we all endure it.
Just as others have resisted temptation, you can too.
Indeed, any temptation can be resisted because God does not allow it to be more than one can stand, and He will always shows you a righteous way out.
He is faithful in helping you resist temptation by showing you and helping you to recognise people and situations that may lead you into trouble; to run from anything that you know is wrong; to choose the righteous path; to pray the right prayer for help; and to seek Godly friends who are willing to pray with you and for you-people that rather than judge you, will help and encourage you to choose the right paths.
The devil brings temptation when you are hungry, as he did to Christ Jesus (MATHEW 4:1-10).
Like Jesus, one must answer, reject, and send the devil packing with Scripture until the end of the testing, then he will leave (MATHEW 4:11).
James said, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
To resist the devil is to stand firm against him and his evil schemes in total submission to God, and then rebuke the devil by verbally demanding him out in Jesus name, then he will flee from you.
Running from temptation is the first step on the way to victory (2 TIMOTHY 2:22), but prevention is always better than cure.
It is wise to avoid people, places, and situations that may lead you into temptation.
But the truth is, no one can resist the devil in his own strength, we all need a supernatural helper.
Thank God for Jesus Christ; He said, ““If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Therefore, just as “Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.””
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
My beloved, this is an amazing promise to you, not only will the Holy Spirit lead and guide you into the victory, but the promise of salvation is added to your children and to all who are afar off (your loved ones), as many as the Lord will call.
If you haven’t already, be baptised in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to help, lead, and strengthen you through all the challenges of life, “Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.”

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
Please like and share to our brothers and sisters all around the world.
God bless you all.
