Blessed Be The God And Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father Of Mercies And God Of All Comfort
God Chose You
2 CORINTHIANS 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
”II Corinthians 1:3-5 NKJV

It is easy to think that when God comforts us our troubles should leave. But surely, if that were true, people would only turn to God to be relieved of pain rather than out of love.
It’s very important to understand that as God comforts us, we receive strength, encouragement, and hope; furthermore, we are able, with the comfort God afforded us, comfort, strengthen, and encourage others too, giving them the confident hope that we have in Christ Jesus.
God did not promise us a trouble free life, but I encourage you, that in every trial you face, God went ahead of you to prepare the way, and He goes with you through it all (DEUTERONOMY 31:1); He is your comfort in time of tribulation.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (PROVERBS 18:10-11); He is your comfort, your rock, your fortress, your deliverer, and your strength in whom you can put your trust (PSALM 18:2-3).
No matter how great the stormy waters, like Peter, you will be able to walk over the storms in your life; but if it gets too loud, or too great, or you lose your focus and start to sink, Jesus is right there in the stormy waters with you, close enough to take your hand and lead you back to the safety and then calm the storm (MATHEW 14:22-36).
My beloved, we all face troubles and tribulations.
But James tells us, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
James 1:2-4 NKJV
Nevertheless, we are all sinners and fail to meet the mark, yet Jeremiah the prophet told us, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV
My beloved, when the devil reminds you of you’re sinful pass and portrays that you’re not good enough, remind him of His future, because regardless of how you see yourself, God chose you, and because He chose to love you, you can love yourself. Furthermore, because He chooses to like you, even in your weakness, you can choose to like yourself, for nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (ROMANS 8:38-39).
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Romans 5:1-5 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
