The Truth Shall Set You Free
If The Son Sets You Free, You Are Free Indeed
You shall know the truth, and the the truth shall make you free (John 8:35).
True Freedom Is Found in Christ.
In a world that constantly defines freedom as the ability to do whatever we want, whenever we want, it's easy to misunderstand what true freedom really means. Many chase after this illusion—freedom through money, fame, power, relationships, or even rebellion—only to end up more bound than they began. But there's a kind of freedom that no prison walls, no addictions, no pain, and no shame can hold captive. That freedom is found only in Christ.
Jesus said in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Before Christ, we were slaves—slaves to sin, to guilt, to fear, to the opinions of others, and to the lies of the enemy. We tried to cover our wounds with masks, to silence our insecurities with distractions, to fill our emptiness with temporary highs. But none of it worked. We were prisoners walking free—until Jesus stepped in.
When you encounter Christ, chains fall. Not just the visible ones, but the ones wrapped around your soul—the shame you couldn’t shake, the cycles you couldn’t break, the heaviness you couldn’t explain. He doesn’t just give us a clean slate; He gives us a new heart. He doesn’t just change our behaviour; He transforms our desires. He doesn’t just open the door of the prison; He walks us out and leads us into purpose.
You are no longer defined by your past.
You are no longer held hostage by your failures.
You are no longer a slave to sin.
You are no longer under condemnation.
You are free to be who God created you to be.
It's knowing you're loved unconditionally, chosen eternally, and held securely. It’s the power to say no to what destroys and yes to what gives life. It's the courage to walk away from what once owned you and walk boldly into your calling.
Some may look at your surrender and call it weakness, but you know better. You’ve tasted the bitter chains of trying to live life your own way. Now you’ve tasted freedom, and nothing compares. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it. Because when you’re free in Christ, you’re truly free.
So don’t go back. Don’t settle for surface-level living. Don’t trade the truth for temporary comfort. Stay rooted in Christ. Abide in His word. Walk in His Spirit. And every day, you’ll find that freedom isn’t just a moment—it’s a lifestyle of trusting, obeying, and loving the One who set you free.
Freedom has a name—His name is Jesus.
Therefore If The Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36).
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen
