You Are What You Eat

We all have to drink water and eat a variety of physical foods, for it satisfies our physical hunger and sustains and fuels our physical lives. Without it, we shall surely die.
In the same way, we must satisfy spiritual hunger, for it sustains and fuels our spiritual well-being.
If one constantly takes in unhealthy physical food, his/ her body will not be suitably nourished and is likely to become unhealthy and the same applies to our spiritual lives.
To sustain spiritual health, one must take in good healthy spiritual food every day; just like junk food is damaging to our physical health, the same applies to our spiritual food.
God’s Word is the only spiritual food that is good and healthy; most other spiritual food is poison to our souls.
Our spiritual health is just as important as our physical health, if not more important.
Jesus confirmed this when He rebuked the devil after forty days of fasting, saying to him, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (see MATHEW 4:1-4).”
My beloved, it is important to take in God’s word every single day, that is the good healthy spiritual food only found in God’s Word.
That is not the spiritual food that the devil has already prepared for you; it is tempting and ready for you to take in through the media, false religions, and prophecy. But like illegal drugs it is addictive, seriously damaging and brings about death.
My brethren, we become what we eat! If you take in the junk food we see on the TV or our laptop screens, or our mobile phones, such as sexually immortality, immoral jokes and worldly pleasures, or false prophecies and teachings, and such things as these, they will damage you spiritually and draw you into sin and death.
They are of the devil and his purpose is to steal, and to kill, and to destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (JOHN 10:10).
I am not saying every preacher on YouTube is false, but Jesus said, ““Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”
Matthew 7:15 NKJV
Therefore, test and approve everything before you digest it, and vomit out the poison the devil has fed you and eat it no more.
My “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
I John 4:1-6 NKJV
Only through relationship with Christ and regular input of His word can we remain spiritually healthy.
Jesus is the “bread of life.” God’s word is like medicine to our soul. But for it to do anything good, one must take it in, digest it, and obediently follow its instruction.
Jesus said, he who comes to Me will never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never first.
The bread of life is what it says it is, medicine to our soul.
We cannot overdose on Christ medicine, it brings healing, freedom, truth, and ongoing joy and peace; Jesus peace that surpasses all understanding and guards our hearts and minds through Christ.
Furthermore, joy in the Lord is our strength
(NEHEMIAH 8:10).
No wonder Jeremiah told us, ““Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.
